Privacy Policy
ReelOrder (reelorder.com) is a site of interactive timeline maps for movie and TV franchises, with a small store selling digital poster files. It is operated by Jayasinghe Consulting Pty Ltd in Victoria, Australia. This page sets out what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version
- You can browse every timeline without an account, and we store nothing about you on our servers when you do.
- We don't sell or rent your data, and we run no advertising or cross-site tracking.
- Card details never touch our servers — Stripe handles payment end to end.
- Email hello@reelorder.com and we'll delete your account and everything tied to it.
Browsing without an account
No sign-in is needed to use any timeline map or watch order. While you browse, the site keeps a few things in your own browser's storage. They stay on your device, are readable only by reelorder.com, and are never sent to us:
reelorder_watched_*— which films you've ticked off in a watch order, so your progress survives a refresh.reelorder_route— the page you were on, so a reload returns you there.reelorder_device— a random string generated in your browser, used to stop the same device voting twice. It isn't derived from anything about you and isn't linked to your identity.
Clearing your browser storage removes all three. We set no advertising cookies.
Signing in
If you sign in — with Google, Facebook, or an email magic link — we receive only your basic profile from that provider: display name, avatar image, email address, and the provider's user ID. We do not request or receive your posts, timeline, friends, or contacts, and we never post on your behalf. Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth.
Contributing
When you vote, comment, or like a comment, we store that alongside your account so it counts once and you get credit for it. Your display name, avatar, comments and votes are visible to other visitors — that part is public by design.
Suggesting a franchise or sending us a message through the contact form stores what you typed: your name or handle, your email (optional on suggestions, required on contact so we can reply), and your note. We also store a salted, truncated HMAC hash of your IP address — used only to rate-limit spam. The raw IP isn't kept, and the hash can't be turned back into it.
Buying a poster
Poster checkout runs on Stripe Checkout, hosted by Stripe. Your card number never reaches ReelOrder's servers and we never see it. Once a payment succeeds we store an order record containing: the Stripe session and payment-intent IDs, the email address you gave Stripe, which poster and style you bought, the amount and currency, the order's status, and whether the confirmation email went out.
That confirmation email is sent through Resend. Your download link is issued against your Stripe session, which is why the link in your email keeps working — it mints a fresh download each time rather than storing one.
Analytics and server logs
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to see which pages get read and how fast they load. Both are aggregate and cookieless: they don't build a profile of you and don't follow you to other sites. Separately, our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) for security and reliability.

Each processes data under its own privacy terms. We share your data with no one else, except where the law requires it. We do not sell or rent it, and we send no marketing email.
These providers operate globally, so your data may be stored or processed outside Australia.
How long we keep it
- Account and contributions — until you ask us to delete them.
- Order records — at least five years, which is what Australian tax record-keeping rules require of us.
- Contact messages and suggestions — while they're still useful to the queue, then removed.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time, and revoke ReelOrder's access from your Google or Facebook account settings. To see, correct, or delete what we hold, email hello@reelorder.com — we'll action it and confirm when it's done.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you're unhappy with how we've handled yours, write to us first; if that doesn't resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Visitors in the UK and EU have the usual rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection — same address.
Children
ReelOrder isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll remove the account.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
